Crafting Orders and Professions
Professions are no longer just a reagent sink. Here's how to turn your crafter into steady income.
Selling the service, not the item
Crafting orders let other players send you their reagents and pay a commission for the craft. That flips the old model. You don't need to stock expensive materials, and your profit comes from skill, specialization points and quality instead of from guessing the market.
Picking a lane
Every profession has a few recipes that everyone needs: endgame gear slots, enchants for new tiers and consumables for raid night. Specialize into one of them early in an expansion and you'll be one of the few crafters who can reach top quality. That's where commissions are highest.
- Public orders pay modest tips but come in steadily. Good for leveling knowledge and building a name.
- Guild orders keep your guildmates geared and are a reliable way to get reagents back when you need them.
- Personal orders are where the money is: players seek out the crafter who can guarantee the quality they need.
Consumables are the steady earner
Flasks, potions, food and weapon enhancements are used up every raid night, every key and every week. Margins are thin but demand never goes away, and it jumps at the start of each raid tier and season. If your professions can make them, an hour of crafting before reset is one of the most dependable sources of gold in the game.
